Case Western Reserve University senior Aidan Nathan wrapped up his collegiate cross country career with his best-ever finish at the NCAA Championship race on Saturday at the Laverne Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday afternoon.
Nathan completed the 8K course in a time of 25:13.0, his fourth-fastest time of the campaign. He crossed the line in 102nd place out of 294 total finishers on Saturday.
It marked the best finish for Nathan in his three career trips to the NCAA Championship meet after placing 217th as a first-year runner in 2021 and 262nd as a sophomore in 2023. This was the first time that he has qualified as an individual rather than with the team.
Wisconsin-Whitewater's Christian Patzka won the individual championship with a time of 24:01.6. Wisconsin-La Crosse won the team championship with a score of 77, followed by Wartburg (173) and Pomona-Pitzer (182).
This was the 21st consecutive year that the Spartans have been represented by at least one individual at the NCAA Championship. Saturday's meet concludes the 2024 season for the Spartans.
