Both the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's cross country teams, along with nine individual runners, were recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their academic achievement during the 2025 season.
The men's and women's squads were each selected as All-Academic Teams, awarded to schools that have a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The men's team achieved a 3.59 GPA, while the women's team had a 3.75 GPA.
In addition, three members of the men's team - junior Jacob Slater and sophomores Donovan Crowley and Adam Esa - along with six members of the women's team - seniors Ayla Grabenbauer and Lauren Iagnemma, sophomore Cecilia Postma, and first-years Francesca Taracila, Halina Tompkins, and Reid Smith - were named All-Academic athletes.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
CWRU is coming off a successful 2025 campaign, during which it sent three individuals - Crowley, Slater, and Taracila - to the NCAA Division III Championship meet. The men's squad finished sixth in both the University Athletic Association and the Great Lakes Region, while the women placed seventh in the conference and sixth in the region.
