Sophomore Abigail Wilkov of the Case Western Reserve University women's diving team submitted a pair of top four finishes at the two-day NCAA Division III Diving Zone Regional held at the Myers-McLoraine Pool in Chicago.
With nine divers from the regional qualifying for the national meet, Wilkov will likely be among the 29 women's divers announced to the NCAA Championship on Monday, February 27. It would be the second appearance for Wilkov in the national meet after she became the first ever CWRU women's diver to be named an All-American last season by placing seventh in the 3-meter dive.
In the 3-meter dive on Friday, Wilkov placed second with 429.35 points, trailing only Chicago's Veronica Fong, who won the regional with 479.35 points. Sophomore Jocelyn Schechter placed eighth with 394.85 points, and junior Rei Miyauchi scored 323.85 points to place 30th.
The following day in the 1-meter dive, Wilkov scored 391.05 points to place fourth, with Fong sweeping the boards by scoring 442.40 points. Schechter placed 23rd with 330.80 points, and Miyauchi placed 29th with 319.15 points.
The 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will be held March 15-18 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. CWRU swimmers Gabriella Chambers, Eliza Dixon, Claire Kozma, and Angeli Paull have already been selected to the meet for their performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
