The Case Western Reserve University men's cross country team ended its 2022 campaign with a 28th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship on Forest Akers East Golf Course in Lansing, Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Jack Begley was the team's top finisher, placing 53rd overall out of 292 runners in the 8K race with a time of 25:45.3. Senior Logan Singer was the next Spartan to cross the finish line, coming in 169th with a time of 26:27.5, while senior Joe Jaster was 191st with a time of 26:35.7. Rounding out the top-five to finish were senior Robert St. Clair in 221st place with a time of 26:49.4, and senior Liam O'Reilly in 232nd place with a time pf 26:56.3.
Completing the Spartans' top seven on Saturday were sophomore Aidan Nathan in 262nd place with a time of 27:20.2 and junior Stephen Henry in 274th place with a time of 27:36.4.
The Spartans finished the meet with an overall team score of 660.
John Carroll's Alex Phillip won the individual championship with a time of 24:37.6. MIT won the men's team title with a score of 82, followed by Wartburg (129) and SUNY Geneseo (168).
Saturday's meet wraps up a successful campaign for the Spartans, who finished second at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals and third at the UAA Championship. CWRU was making its 14th NCAA Championships appearance this year, and it was the fourth-straight NCAA Championship meet that the team has earned a spot in, the second-longest streak in program history.
