First-year Abigail Wilkov highlighted several strong performances for the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's diving teams as they wrapped up competition at the CMU Diving Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
On Friday at the invitational, Wilkov led the women as she placed second in the one-meter dive with a new school record score of 477.15. That mark bests the previous school record 371.55 set back in 1995. First-year Jocelyn Schechter added a fifth-place finish in the event with a score of 432.95.
During Saturday's action, Wilkov notched another school record as she placed second in the three-meter dive with a score of 459.65. That mark bests the previous school record of 391.275 set back in 1996. Sophomore Rei Miyauchi finished eighth in the event with a score of 412.10.
For the men, first-year Nico Billoni led the way as he placed sixth in the three-meter dive on Friday with a score of 451.70. First-year Alex Waltman added an eighth-place finish in the event with a score of 442.20.
Wilkov, Schechter, Miyauchi, Billoni and Waltman all secured NCAA Regional Qualifying scores during the two-day invite.
The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's swimming teams will now look to wrap up competition tonight at the Magnus Cup Invitational. Finals are scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
