The loss dropped the Spartans to 4-4 on the season, while Indiana raised its record to 4-1 on the year with the victory.

CWRU started off the day strong, taking two of the three doubles to open a 2-1 advantage over the Crimson Hawks. Picking up doubles victories were the pairings of junior Mira Amin and first-year Nina Hoog, who defeated Indiana's Julia Newman and Maria Magraner 8-5 in the third doubles match, and junior Madeleine Paolucci and first-year Savannah Bright, who picked up an 8-5 win at first doubles over Katya Minchenkova and Idoia Huerta. The Spartans lone loss came in the second match, where junior Nicole Cardwell and first-year Shreya Ramani suffered an 8-3 defeat to Mariana Valenzuela and Joanna Stralka.

In singles action, Ramani claimed a quick 6-2, 6-3 victory over Huerta at third singles. However, the Spartans dropped the first and second singles matches, allowing the Crimson Hawks to even the score at 3-3.
