INDIANAPOLIS – Case Western Reserve University senior captain Sean Nickley (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) tied for 17th place in the 100-yard breaststroke on day three of the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship at IUPUI Natatorium.
Nickley entered the meet as the No. 22 seed and improved five spots with a time of 56.47. The top 16 finishers qualify for finals and NCAA All-American honors. The 16th and final qualifier in the 100 breaststroke recorded a time of 56.42.
Tomorrow, Nickley will swim for the final time as a Spartan. He will also look for his first All-American award as the No. 13 seed in the 200 breaststroke.
In his NCAA Championship debut yesterday, Nickley swam a 51.08 in the 100 butterfly as a warm-up event.
Day four prelims and finals begin at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
