CHICAGO – Select members of the No. 16 nationally-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's swimming & diving team competed at the Midwest Invitational Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday, February 22-23, at Myers-McLoraine Pool on the campus of the University of Chicago.
The Spartan men finished third with 318 team points, while No. 6 nationally-ranked Emory University (Ga.) won the team title with 531. NCAA Division I University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee placed second with 467.
Individually, junior Kyle Petersen (Nassau Bay, Texas/Lutheran South Academy) placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.08 seconds.
The season comes to an end for the swimmer portion of the Spartan roster, but three divers will compete next weekend in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championship Meet.
Junior Daniel Jacobson (Solon, Ohio/Solon) along with freshmen Connor Farrell (Bedord Corners, N.Y /Fox Lane) and Jacob Kasper (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) will dive at the 2013 NCAA Division III Regional hosted by Calvin College on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
