The Spartans will entertain Brandeis University (Mass.) (8-10 overall, 1-6 UAA) on Friday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. followed by New York University (9-9, 1-6 UAA) on Sunday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m. The Spartans defeated each team on the road last weekend.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
The Spartans, winners of their last two contests, concluded their second-straight University Athletic Association weekend away from Horsburgh Gymnasium with a pair of victories versus Brandeis (61-54) Friday, January 27 and NYU (55-47) on Sunday, Jan. 29. For the season, the Spartans have outscored their opponents by an average of 59.7 ppg to 57.2 and possess a 39.8 rpg to 35.6 rebounding advantage. Case shoots .373 from the field, including .272 from three-point range, and .714 from the foul line.
CASE WESTERN RESERVE LEADERS
Junior guard Evy Iacono and senior forward Erin Hollinger rank as one of the top scoring duos in the UAA each averaging 12.7 ppg, good for a tie for fourth in the UAA. Hollinger leads the squad and sits 13th in the UAA in rebounding at 5.4 rpg clip, while senior forward Chelsea Peck ranks fourth in the conference in free-throw percentage (45-of-59/.763) in addition to adding career-bests of 7.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg. Junior guard Erica Iafelice is tied for second in the UAA in steals (2.0 spg) and 11th in assists (2.6 apg) while adding 5.6 ppg and 3.6 rpg. Freshman Brooke Orcutt is averaging 5.2 ppg following a pair of nine-point outputs last weekend to go along with 3.2 rpg in just 15.5 minutes off the bench.
BLOCK PARTY
Senior forward Erin Hollinger and junior center Emily Mueller rank second and third, respectively, in the UAA at 1.6 blocks per game. Hollinger leads the team with 29 blocks and has amassed 165 swats in 93 career games played, while Mueller has 24 rejections this season and 42 for her career.
SECOND PLACE
Erin Hollinger, who has 27 points and 15 rebounds over the last two games, ranks second all-time in program history with 1,322 career points. Spartan Club Hall of Famer Erin Rogalski is CWRU's all-time leader with 1,659.
THROWBACK WEEKEND
As part of CWRU's seventh annual Throwback Weekend, the Spartan women are wearing uniforms commemorating Flora Stone Mather College. Named in honor of its leading benefactress Flora Stone Mather, FSMC operated under the trusteeship of Western Reserve University. WRU and Case Institute of Technology federated in 1967 to become Case Western Reserve University.
SCOUTING THE JUDGES
The Judges head into this weekend's action after falling to the Spartans last Friday in Boston by a 61-54 tally before rebounding to defeat Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) on Sunday, 67-56. Brandeis senior guard Morgan Kendrew led the way with 35 combined points, including a game-high 22 in Sunday's victory over the Tartans. Guard Diana Cincotta also finished each contest in double-figures combining for 23 points on the weekend. For the season, Brandeis has been outscored by its opponents, 58.5 ppg to 54.9, but do out-rebound the opposition by a slight margin of 40.5 rpg to 40.3. The Judges shoot .355 from the field, including .255 from three-point range, and .598 from the charity stripe.
BRANDEIS LEADERS
Senior guard Morgan Kendrew leads the team in scoring at 11.9 ppg to go along with 3.0 rebounds per game in 13 contests played. Guard Diana Cincotta is second on the team in scoring at 9.6 ppg, while freshman guard Hannah Cain contributes 7.2 ppg and 5.8 rpg, while totaling team-bests of 35 three-pointers and 65 assists. Junior forward/center Samantha Anderson chips in with 4.8 ppg and leads the Judges at 6.8 rpg.
CWRU VS. BRANDEIS SERIES
The Spartans and Judges have met 37 times on the hardwood, including last Friday's matchup in Massachusetts, with Brandeis owning a 25-12 advantage in the all-time series. Despite trailing in the series, the Spartans having won the last three matchups, with scores of 56-38 in Cleveland and 49-45 in Massachusetts last season. The first meeting between the two programs came during the 1987-88 season
CWRU VS. BRANDEIS LAST MEETING
The Spartans defeated the Judges, 61-54, one week ago inside Red Auerbach Arena. The tandem of Erin Hollinger and Evy Iacono combined for 37 points leading the visitors to the UAA road win. Brandeis was led by Morgan Kendrew with 13 points while Courtney Ness and Diana Cincotta added 10 points apiece.
SCOUTING THE VIOLETS
The Violets entered Friday night's game at Carnegie Mellon having dropped six-straight contests. Last weekend, NYU fell 65-48 to the Tartans on Friday night and 55-47 to the Spartans on Sunday. Junior center Makenzie Hirz led the way with back-to-back 10-point performances and posted 10 rebounds for a double-double against Case on Sunday, while senior guard Tana Bertino scored 18 points in the two defeats. For the season, NYU had been outscoring its opponents 56.9 ppg to 56.2 and out-rebounding the opposition 39.3 rpg to 37.9. The Violets shoot .381 from the field, including .286 from three-point range, and .648 from the foul line.
NYU LEADERS
Senior guard Bianca Storts leads the team and ranks 10th in the UAA in scoring at 10.8 ppg. Storts backcourt mate Cara Bonito ranks second on the team with her 10.0 ppg and sits second in the UAA in assists (3.8 apg) and third in free-throw percentage (63-of-81/.778). Senior guard Tana Bertino is third on the team in scoring at 8.2 ppg, leads the squad with 26 three-pointers and contributes 2.7 rpg and 2.2 apg. Senior forward Shelby Coon, who missed last Sunday afternoon's contest, averages 7.6 ppg and leads the UAA at 10.9 rpg.
CWRU VS. NYU SERIES
The Spartans and Violets have met 38 times on the hardwood, with NYU holding a 32-6 lead in the all-time series. However, the Spartans have won the last three meetings including a season sweep last winter. Last season, the Spartans earned a 78-67 victory in Cleveland and picked up just their third victory inside the Jerome S. Coles Center by a score of 77-69.

The Spartans defeated the Violets, 55-47, in a defensive battle last Sunday inside the Jerome S. Coles Center in the Big Apple. The Spartans featured a balanced scoring attack led by Brooke Orcutt's nine points, while Chelsea Peck, Marissa Miles and Erin Hollinger each finished with eight. Peck also added a team-high seven rebounds. Tana Bertino led all scorers with 12 points, while Makenzie Hirz posted a double-double of 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for NYU.
