ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team kept its dual match record perfect for the fall by sweeping host University of Mount Union, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Whitehill Tennis Courts.

With little time to rest, the Spartans (2-0) return to action tomorrow, Saturday, October 8, when they play the first of their three home fall matches against The College of Wooster as part of Spartan Tennis Alumni and Parents Day/Affinity Day. The match at Carlton Courts is set to begin at 12:30 p.m.

Mount Union falls to 2-1 in dual matches.

The Spartans jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead during doubles play. The No. 1 tandem of junior Erika Lim (Fullerton, Calif./Fullerton Union) and freshman sister Alexandra Lim won 8-1; the No. 2 team of sophomores Bianca Patel (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) and Kara Richardson (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) won 8-1; and the No. 3 duo of junior Kathleen Evers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and freshman Marianne Bonanno (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) were victorious by an 8-5 count.

In singles play, the Spartans picked up six straight-set wins from Erika Lim at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), Bonanno at No. 2 (6-4, 6-3), Patel at No. 3 (6-2, 6-3), Evers at No. 4 (6-2, 6-4), freshman Alison Althans (Gates Mills, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) at No. 5 (6-2, 6-2) and freshman Angie Korpusik (Campbell, Calif./Presentation) at No. 6 (6-3, 6-2).

Following Saturday's match against Wooster, the Spartans will have a week off from competition until they host their final two matches of the fall on Saturday, Oct. 15 versus Oberlin College at 11:00 a.m. and local-rival John Carroll University at 4:00 p.m.
