The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams combined to receive 12 All-Great Lakes Region honors for the outdoor season from the USTFCCCA, the organization announced on Tuesday.
First-year sprinter Gianna Phipps, first-year sprinter Samaria Benochi, first-year jumper Anna Callo, first-year sprinter Elizabeth Crossan, sophomore runner Donovan Crowley, senior jumper Anthony DeCarlo, senior runner Ayla Grabenbauer, senior runner Arianna Holbrook, junior runner Jacob Slater, and senior runner Melanie Taylor all received All-Region honors by recording one of the eight best marks in the region in an individual event or a relay.
Phipps earned All-Region honors in three events: the 400-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 4x400-meter relay. She recorded the second-fastest time in the region in the 400-meter dash, a school record mark of 54.82 seconds at the 2026 University Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Phipps ran the 200-meter dash in 24.29 seconds, a school record time, at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships which was the fifth-best time in the region. She was also the anchor leg on the 4x400-meter relay that finished in 3:57.58 at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, recording the eighth-fastest time in the region. Phipps has received six All-Region honors in her career with these three her first during the outdoor season.
Benochi, Crossan, and Taylor were all members of the 4x400-meter relay at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The quartet's time ranked second in program history, falling just 0.11 seconds shy of the program record set in 2003. Taylor earned her fourth career All-Region honor and first during the outdoor season. Benochi and Crossan picked up their second career honors and first outdoor recognitions.
Callo cleared 3.61 meters in the pole vault at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, tying for sixth in the region. This is her first career All-Region recognition.
Crowley finished the 1,500-meter run in 3:51.40 at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier last week. The time ranked fourth in the Great Lakes. Crowley earned his fifth career All-Region honor, his third for track and field, and his first during the outdoor campaign.
DeCarlo received his first career All-Region honor by clearing 4.82 meters in the pole vault at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships. The mark set a program record, besting the previous mark of 4.81 meters set in 2015, and was fifth best in the region.
Grabenbauer secured All-Region honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the third consecutive season, crossing the line at 10:45.15 at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier. The time ranks second in program history and is the fastest by a Spartan since 2018. Grabenbauer finished the season fourth in the Great Lakes Region.
Holbrook set the program record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.45 at the Harrison Dillard Twilight earlier this month. She ranked fifth in the region with the time and is earning her third career All-Region honor and first during the outdoor season.
Slater is recognized for his time in the 5,000-meter run, which ranked eighth in the region. He finished the race in 14:49.76 at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to secure his fourth career All-Region honor and second for track and field.
The CWRU track and field team will finish the 2026 outdoor season at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin, from May 21-23. Phipps will compete in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
