The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the regular season with a small contingent of student-athletes competing at the Mount Union Final Qualifier in Alliance, Ohio, on Thursday and Friday.
Junior runner Lauren Iagnemma turned in the second-fastest time in program history in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the line first at 4:38.59. Graduate student thrower Michaela Burkhauser finished third in the shot put with a toss of 13.14 meters and fourth in the discus throw with a heave of 43.04 meters.
First-year thrower Sarah Viveiros threw the javelin 37.63 meters to place third. Graduate student thrower Ailean Duffie placed fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 50.57 meters, senior thrower Lauren Roskuszka was fifth with a season-best mark of 50.37 meters, and senior thrower Rachel Ginn finished ninth with a toss of 47.72 meters.
For the men's team, senior runner Hans Holst finished the 1,500-meter run in 3:54.98, a career-best time and the sixth-fastest ever by a Spartan.
Official selections to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be released by the NCAA on Friday, May 16 by 8 p.m. The top 22 individual performances in each event and top 16 relay teams will qualify for the national championship.
