Three members of the Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team earned All-University Athletic Association honors on the second day of the 2025 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Chicago at the Henry Crown Fieldhouse in Chicago on Sunday.
Junior hurdler/sprinter Josh Bates placed third in the 400-meter dash in 50.50 seconds after qualifying for the finals with prelims time of 51.04 seconds on Saturday. Bates also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash in 23.34 seconds with first-year sprinter Marvin Sze placing fifth with a time of 22.96 seconds.
Junior hurdler/sprinter Bryce Hodge earned All-UAA honors with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.47 seconds. He booked his place in the finals on Saturday with a preliminary time of 8.46 seconds.
In distance events, first-year runner Donovan Crowley claimed his first career all-conference honor in the mile run, placing third in 4:17.57.
Overall, the CWRU men's track and field team placed fifth in the conference with 58.0 points. Chicago was the conference champion with 164.0 points, followed by Emory (142.5 points), Carnegie Mellon (100.5), and WashU (90.0). Trailing the Spartans were NYU with 47.0 points and Brandeis with 18.0 points.
Senior runner Aidan Nathan scored points for the Spartans in his second event at the championships, placing sixth in the 3000-meter run in 8:30.60. Sophomore thrower Toby Langsner also placed sixth in the shot put with a heave of 13.51 meters, his second scoring event of the weekend. In the pole vault, senior jumper Quaylen Lamarre cleared 4.46 meters to place seventh and score two points.
The CWRU 4x400-meter relay of Bates, graduate student Yusuf Shaaban, senior Nicolas Lende, and senior Hans Holst ended the day with a fourth-place finish in 3:24.78.
Looking to improve their marks for national qualification, the Spartan track and field teams will compete at a pair of last chance meets, the Tufts Final Qualifier hosted by Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, on Saturday, March 8.

- Bates earned his third career All-UAA honor and the second indoor honor of his career this weekend. He placed second as part of the indoor distance medley relay in 2023 and as a member of the outdoor 4x100-meter relay in 2024
- Hodge secured his second career All-UAA honors, and the first indoor accolade of his career. He placed second in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles in 2023
- While Crowley was not an All-UAA selection during the cross country season, he was the 2024 UAA Rookie of the Year for the sport
- Crowley ran the third-fastest time in program history in the mile run, and Nathan now ranks third in the 3000-meter run in the Spartan record book
