Box Score The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team fell to the University of Rochester 3-0 at DiSanto Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday evening.
The loss dropped the Spartans to 6-10-0 overall, including a 0-5-0 ledger in University Athletic Association play. Rochester raised its overall record to 7-7-1 with a 1-4-0 UAA mark.
The Yellowjackets took the lead in the 55th minute of play on Friday, when junior Pamela Chan buried a shot into the lower left corner of the goal for second goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 until the 61st minute, when sophomore Liz Mastoloni struck a ball from the far side of the field in the back of the net for her second goal of the season. The Yellowjackets capped off the scoring for the night with a 75th minute goal by freshman Emily Tompkins, her first of the season.
Sophomore Lauren Unterborn went the distance on Friday, making two saves for the Spartans. Senior midfielder Elle Zadina, senior defender Neha Cheemalavagu and junior midfielder Melanie Kukura each led the team with two total shots, while Kukura led CWRU with two shots on goal.
The Spartans finished the game with 11 total shots, including five on goal, while the Yellowjackets took nine shots in the game, with five on target.
Case Western Reserve will be back in action on Sunday, October 29th, when they welcome Emory University to Disanto Field for a 1:30 p.m. match.
