Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team concluded the 2012 regular season with a 3-0 loss as No. 21 nationally-ranked University of Rochester recorded a trio of second-half scores during University Athletic Association play on Saturday evening inside Edwin Fauver Stadium.
Case wraps up its campaign with a 3-14-1 overall record and an 0-7 mark in the UAA. With the victory, Rochester, ranked No. 21 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America national poll, improves to 10-3-3 overall and 3-1-3 in the UAA.
In the opening half, neither team managed to get on the board as just five shots were taken and the match went into the halftime break tied at 0-0.
Out of the intermission, the match stayed scoreless until just after the midway point when Rochester got on the board via a Case own goal at the 67:23 mark. Jack Thesing gave the hosts a two-goal advantage just over eight minutes later in the 76th minute via an assist from Jeffrey Fafinski.
The Yellowjackets tacked on the third score in the 90th minute on a score from Andrew Greenway.
Between the pipes, senior goalkeeper Ryan Koepka (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finished with a save in 90 minutes, while Rochester's Scott Garfing tallied four stops.
Statistically, Rochester held a 12-7 advantage for the match and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
