Spartan Men's Tennis Team Sweeps OWU for Third Straight Victory

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team won its third consecutive match with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday evening, April 2 at the Cleveland Skating Club.

The Spartans improve to 8-6 overall and are scheduled to return to action Friday-Sunday, April 8-10 at the GLCA Tournament at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. With the loss, Ohio Wesleyan fell to 6-5.

The Spartans swept through doubles play by a combined score of 24-5. The No. tandem of junior Sean Carr (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) and sophomore Kyle Gerber (Columbus, OH/St. Charles Prep) were 8-0 winners at No. 2.

Case also swept all six singles matches with Carr winning 6-0, 6-0 versus Will Thieman at the No. 1 position. Freshman Eric Klawitter (Arlington Heights, IL/John Hershey) also swept his opponent, Zach Weaver, at No. 5.
