Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team dropped its 2010 season finale by a score of 4-0 at the University Rochester (N.Y.) in University Athletic Association play at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Saturday evening, November 6.
With the loss, the Spartans end the season at 10-6-3 overall and 3-4 (fifth place) in the UAA. With the win, Rochester improves to 10-2-5 overall and 3-2-2 (fourth) in the UAA.
Rochester scored its first goal when Max Fan found the back of the net following an assist from Tom Sorrentino in the 43rd minute. The Yellowjackets added three goals in the second half, including two in the final six minutes to bring the final score to 4-0.
In goal, junior Ben Yabrow (Marietta, GA/George Walton Comprehensive) recorded four saves. Rochester's Mike Moranza totaled one.
For the game, the Spartans were outshot 20-7 and out-cornered 7-3. Junior forward Vinny Bell (Parma Heights, OH/Valley Forge) led the team with a pair of shots.
Case's 10 victories this season were three more than last season and the three conference victories were a three-game improvement over last year.
