The Case Western Reserve University football team (2-1, 0-1 PAC) dropped its first game of the 2026 campaign, falling to the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents (2-1, 1-0 PAC) 35-7 on Saturday night at DiSanto Field.

Andy Kavcic highlighted the Spartans' first drive of the game with a 33-yard catch that put the ball inside the Presidents' 30-yard line, but CWRU could not get points on the board.

The Presidents capitalized on a CWRU fumble, getting possession at the Spartans' four-yard line and scoring a play later on a run to take a 7-0 lead with 5:20 to play in the period.

The Spartans drove to the Washington & Jefferson three-yard line early in the second quarter, but an interception in the endzone cost CWRU a chance to get on the board.

On the ensuing drive, Andrew Sharp ran for a 43-yard touchdown to increase the Washington & Jefferson lead to 14-0 with 11:52 left in the half.

Sharp added his third touchdown of the first half, scoring from 21 yards out with 4:16 on the clock to give the Presidents a three-touchdown lead heading into halftime.

The Spartans were finally able to break through against the Presidents' defense in the fourth quarter, as senior quarterback Pierce Olsen led a 16-play, 80-yard drive, capped off by a 14-yard rushing touchdown by Kavcic with 6:07 to play in the game.

Andy Kavcic notched his second-consecutive 100-yard rushing effort. He now has 490 rushing yards through the first three games of the season to go along with 146 receiving yards.
