A total of eleven Case Western Reserve University student-athletes were named to the 17th annual University Athletic Association Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team, which recognizes the top-achieving athletes in the conference during the 2025-26 academic year, both in the classroom and in competition.
Student-athletes recognized included Donovan Crowley (men's cross country/ track & field), Ceci Dapino (women's soccer), Jamie Goldfarb (women's soccer), Hannah Kassaie (women's tennis), Trey Lambright (men's tennis), Art Martinez (wrestling), Karen Potts (softball), Ansh Shah (men's tennis), Katalina Wang (women's tennis), Phillip Washington (men's soccer), and Bradley Winter (men's soccer).
To be eligible for the UAA Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team, student-athletes must earn first-team All-Association honors (or win a UAA Championship in an event in track & field and swimming & diving) and must carry a 3.70 or greater cumulative grade point average during that playing season (the minimum GPA was increased from 3.5 in previous years). Student-athletes must have completed one full year at that institution to qualify.
It marked the 10th consecutive season that CWRU has placed 10 or more student-athletes on the team and the 12th time in the 17-year history of the award.
Among the CWRU honorees was one repeat winner, as Kassaie secured the award for the third time over her career. Two of the CWRU honorees - Martinez and Potts - were recipients of a top UAA individual performer award (e.g., MVP, Most Outstanding Performer).
The 2025-26 UAA Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team consisted of 103 honorees representing each of the eight schools in the conference. The UAA Presidents Council created the special recognition in 2009, following a recommendation from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that was supported by the Athletic Administrators and Delegates Committees.
