CWRU’s Stillson Receives CSC Academic All-America Acclaim

Case Western Reserve University's Tyler Stillson, a junior on the baseball team, was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team for his achievements on the field and in the classroom during the 2026 season.

This is the second-straight season that Stillson has been named to the Academic All-America Second Team, becoming the sixth player in program history to earn multiple Academic All-America honors over a career. A total of 11 CWRU baseball players have accumulated 18 Academic All-America awards during the program's history, including 11 honors over the past four years.

Stillson is the eighth CWRU student-athlete this year to earn Academic All-America acclaim. Since the inception of the program, 132 CWRU student-athletes have earned 194 Academic All-America selections.

Stillson was a factor both on the mound and at the plate for the Spartans during his junior campaign, seeing time as a starting pitcher, playing first base, left field, and serving as the designated hitter for CWRU, en route to earning a spot on the All-UAA Second Team. He started each of the team's games and finished the season leading all qualifying players on the team with a .315 (47-149) batting average, a .456 slugging percentage, and a .406 on-base percentage for a .862 OPS. He added 26 runs, nine doubles, three triples, two home runs, and 24 RBIs, while stealing four bases on five attempts. Stillson also started 11 games on the mound, going 4-4 with a 5.31 ERA and striking out 76 batters in 62.2 innings, the fourth-most in a campaign in the program's history.

Over his career, he is a two-time All-UAA Second Team honoree and was named to the D3baseball.com and ABCA All-Region teams in 2025. He is a .330 career hitter with 12 home runs and 91 RBIs, while going 12-5 on the mound with a 5.31 ERA.

Stillson, who was also an Academic All-America Second Team selection last year, has a perfect 4.0 GPA as a mechanical engineering major and is a two-time UAA All-Academic honoree.

The 2026 Academic All-America Baseball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division III Academic All-America programs.

The Spartans finished their 2026 season with a 20-19 overall record, marking the team's 17th-consecutive season with a .500 or better winning percentage. CWRU went 8-12 in UAA games, finishing fifth in the final league standings.
