Fans of the Case Western Reserve University softball team are encouraged to watch the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Selection Show, which is scheduled to air on Monday, May 11 at 11 a.m. on ncaa.com.
The pre-taped show will reveal the 64-team bracket, including the 22 at-large selections, and 16 regional hosting sites. CWRU is likely to receive an at-large bid based on the latest NCAA Power Index (NPI).
Now in its second year, NPI is used to determine the at-large bids. The top 22 rated teams in NPI that did not receive their conference's automatic qualification (AQ) to the tournament will play in the NCAA Tournament. In the final NPI rating, Case Western Reserve ranked 24th overall in Division III and ninth out of non-AQ teams.
The Spartans are hoping to make their fifth consecutive postseason appearance and seventh all-time NCAA bid. The program reached the NCAA Finals in 2018 and 2024 and additionally advanced to the Super Regional Round (the round of 16) in 2022. The team has a 22-16 all-time record in postseason games.
More information about the postseason will be posted on athletics.case.edu and on the CWRU Athletics social media pages on Monday afternoon.
