No. 18 Spartans Defeat No. 32 Denison 5-2 on Sunday Evening

The 18th-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team won its third consecutive match to open the season, defeating 32nd-ranked Denison University 5-2 on Sunday evening at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club in Mayfield, Ohio.

The Spartans improved to 3-0 this season, while the Big Red fell to 1-2.

  • The Spartans improved to 11-2 in their last 13 matches against the Big Red and extended their winning streak to seven matches in the series
  • CWRU won its second match against a ranked foe this season. Six of the squad's next seven matchups are against teams ranked in the ITA Division III Top 25
  • Case Western Reserve won its first three matches at home to start the 2026 spring campaign. The team plays just one more home match before April 4

The Spartans will head to Lexington, Virginia, next weekend for the Groundhog Palooza hosted by 19th-ranked Washington & Lee. CWRU will face the host Generals on Saturday, February 21 at 3 p.m. followed by a match with 22nd-ranked Swarthmore on Sunday at 9 a.m.
