Case Western Reserve University juniors Rowan Matorin, Jon Totorica, and Rohit Jain will each head into the final day of competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall Central Region Championship with a chance for a title, as Matorin reached the semifinals of the singles draw, and Totorica and Jain made it to the semifinals of the doubles tournament, with a pair of wins each on Saturday in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Totorica and Jain, seeded seventh overall, bested ninth-seeded Jay Dixit and Jonah Ng of Kenyon 8-4 in the round of 16. The duo was down 7-3 in their quarterfinal match against fourth-seeded Drew Koval and Nathan Tam of WashU, but was able to fend off a pair of match points and come from behind for an 8-7 (6) win. The pair will now face ninth-seeded Chika Nwaozuzu and Nicholas Meyers of Denison in the semifinals on Sunday, with the winning pair earning a berth into the ITA Cup. The doubles championship match will follow the completion of the semifinals on Sunday.

Matorin, seeded ninth, also put himself a win away from a berth into the ITA Cup with a pair of impressive singles victories. He bested UChicago's Alexander Ekstrand, the second-overall seed, in straight sets in the round of 16, winning 6-3, 6-2. He went on to best fifth-seeded Meyers of Denison in the quarterfinals, coming from behind for a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 win. He will now face seventh-seeded Jeremy Sieben of WashU in the semifinals on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the finals later in the day.

In addition to his play at doubles, Totorica also reached the quarterfinals of the singles draw as the eighth-seeded player, besting North Central's Henry Ros 6-2, 6-1, in the round of 16. Denison's Aidan Borosko, seeded ninth, would eliminate him in the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

Sixth-seeded senior George Kosseifi reached the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over ninth-seeded Matthew Liew of UChicago, before falling to Kenyon's Maximo Llamas, the top-overall seed, 7-6 (4), 6-4.

The Spartans' other two doubles pairings each fell in their round of 16 match. Top-seeded Trey Lambright and Derek Shiffler dropped an 8-5 decision to ninth-seeded Heyang Li and Timothy Nguyen of UChicago, and third-seeded Matorin and junior Leon Chen lost 8-5 to Nicolas Siqueira and Colin Klein of Millikin University.

Senior Santiago Salazar Garza dropped a 7-6 (3), 6-3 decision to UChicago's Ajer Sher in the round of 16.

Chen and Jain also went 2-0 in the Singles B Flight on Saturday to reach Sunday's quarterfinals.

The Spartans also sent a contingent of players to Meadville, Pennsylvania, for the Blue-Gold Invitational, facing players from host Allegheny College.

CWRU players went 8-2 in doubles matches during the event. The duos of sophomores Shay Gupta and Glen Ngo, first-years Arnav Arora and Evan Kaufman, and first-years Harry Glickstein and Renvath Kothapalli each went 2-0 in doubles matches.

The Spartans went on to go 20-2 in singles matches, including 2-0 showings from Arora, first-year David Bell, Glickstein, Gupta, Kaufman, Kothapalli, Ngo, first-year Luca Ospino, and first-year Langston Walter-Wu.
