No. 4 Spartans Win 4-1 Over Mount Union to Remain Unbeaten

The fourth-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team remained undefeated in 2025 with a 4-1 win over the University of Mount Union on Saturday night at Kehres Stadium.

The Spartans improved to 9-0-1 in 2025, while the Purple Raiders dropped to 3-3-2.

Stats and Standouts

 First Half

  • Dapino found Farra on a run on the far side of the 18-yard box in the eighth minute
  • Farra hit the ball past the Mount Union goalkeeper for the first score of the game
  • It was Farra's team-leading ninth goal of the season and the third assist of the year for Dapino
  • The Purple Raiders responded just 19 seconds later, tying the score on a goal by Madeline Boulos
  • In the 25th minute, Flynn, on the goal line, played the ball in front of the net to Probst
  • The first year hit the ball into the back of the net to give the Spartans the lead
  • The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the first half

Second Half

  • In the 53rd minute, Dapino doubled the Spartan lead with her sixth goal of the campaign
  • Farra found Dapino unmarked in the center of the box, and she fired a shot in the bottom corner of the net for the score
  • Farra earned her third assist of the season
  • CWRU scored for the fourth time in the 60th minute
  • Sassower sent a corner kick toward the top of the box that found the head of Goldfarb. She directed the ball past the goalkeeper for her eighth goal of the year
  • Sassower was credited with her team-leading sixth assist in 2025
  • The Spartans held the Purple Raiders without in shot in the second half, securing the non-conference win

Spartan Notes

  • CWRU improved to 9-5-1 against Mount Union in a series that dates to 1987
  • The Spartans have not lost 62 consecutive non-conference regular season games, going 57-0-5 in those contests since 2018
  • Farra scored a goal and earned an assist for the third time this season. Her 21 points lead the team and are tied for the 12th most in a single season in program history
  • CWRU had a 23-2 advantage in shots and 15-1 edge in shots in goal in the game
  • In addition to Palaian, junior Kinzly Gootman and first-year Mia Modrovich played all 90 minutes of the game
