Ten members of the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Cross Country/ Track & Field Teams for their academic and athletic achievements during the 2024-25 campaign.
Senior Nate Gilbert, junior Bryce Hodge, sophomore Toby Langsner, junior Joshua Park, and sophomore Jacob Slater each earned the honor for the CWRU men, while senior Rachel Ginn, junior Ayla Grabenbauer, junior Lauren Iagnemma, junior Ashley Novak, and sophomore Holly Schreiber represented the women's squad. Langsner, Iagnemma, Ginn, and Schreiber were each named to the Academic All-America ballot.
This was the third career Academic All-District honor for Gilbert and the second for both Grabenbauer and Iagnemma. Gilbert was also named to the Academic All-America Second Team in both 2023 and 2024.
The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Players honored were selected by their school's Sports Information Directors and must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average while finishing in the top 50 at the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship or ranking among the top 50 in the region in an individual event during the indoor or outdoor track & field seasons. Schools are allowed a maximum of five men's and five women's nominations.
Gilbert is a Biology and Environmental Studies major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA. He finished the season ranked 16th regionally and 163rd nationally in the indoor mile with a season-best time of 4:19.30, while his best outdoor 1,500-meter run time of 4:00.01 ranked 44th in the region and 371st nationally during the campaign.
Ginn claimed USTFCCCA All-Region honors during the outdoor season for her performance in the hammer throw, ending the season ranked fifth in the region and 42nd nationally with a mark of 50.61 meters, the fourth-best mark in program history. She claimed the 2024 UAA Championship in the hammer throw, while also recording season-best tosses of 14.81 meters in the indoor weight throw (18th regionally, 140th nationally) and 34.56 meters in the outdoor discus throw (47th regionally and 354th nationally). She has a 3.97 cumulative GPA as a Biology and Environmental Studies major.
Grabenbauer earned All-UAA honors with a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the conference outdoor championships. Her time of 11:00.94 ranked fourth regionally and 43rd nationally during the year, earning her all-region acclaim. She also notched a season-best time of 4:46.35 in the 1,500-meter run, the 33rd-best mark in the region and 245th nationally in 2025. Grabenbauer, a Biomedical Engineering major, has a perfect 4.00 GPA at CWRU.
Hodge was an All-UAA honoree during both the indoor and outdoor season in 2025, placing third in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 110-meter hurdles at the UAA Championships. His time of 8.32 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles was the second-best in program history while ranking 11th regionally and 67th nationally, and his 110-meter hurdle time of 14.98 seconds was the third-fastest in program history, 14th in the region, and 96th nationally in 2025. Hodge is a Political Science (Pre-Law) major with a 3.83 GPA.
Iagnemma owns a perfect 4.00 GPA at CWRU as a Psychology and Spanish major. She claimed the second All-America honors for the second-straight year at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, placing 36th overall after finishing fourth at the NCAA Regional Championship. She went on to earn all-region honors in the indoor 3,000-meter run (3rd regionally, 29th nationally) and outdoor 5,000-meter run (5th regionally, 42nd nationally), in addition to ranking 12th regionally and 93rd nationally in the outdoor 1,500-meter run. Iagnemma was also an All-UAA First Team honoree during the cross country season (sixth place) and in the indoor 3,000-meter run (second place), with her time of 9:52.68 in the 3,000-meter run at the UAA Championship setting a program record.
Langsner was a two-time All-UAA honoree in 2025, claiming the honors with second-place finishes in the indoor weight throw and the outdoor hammer throw. He recorded three top-10 marks in program history during the year, including the fifth-best indoor shot put (14.84 meters) and weight throw (16.10 meters) and the ninth-best outdoor shot put (14.18 meters). He finished the year ranked 16th regionally and 109th nationally in the indoor shot put, 20th regionally and 119th nationally in the indoor weight throw, 23rd regionally and 188th nationally in the outdoor shot put, and 38th regionally and 256th nationally in the outdoor hammer throw. Langsner is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.84 GPA.
Novak, who holds a 3.95 cumulative GPA as a Biomedical Engineering major, secured all-region honors with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship after ranking fourth in the region and 43rd nationally in the indoor 5,000-meter run (17:29.72). She was also 22nd in the region in the outdoor 5,000-meter run (17:53.27) and 48th in the region in the indoor 3,000-meter run (10:44.99). Novak's indoor 5,000-meter run time was the fifth-fastest in program history.
Park, a Biochemistry major with a 4.00 GPA, ranked 18th regionally and 113th nationally in the indoor 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.46 seconds. He added a mark of 15.53 seconds in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles, the 27th-best mark in the region and 205th nationally.
Schreiber notched the fifth-best pole vault height in the region during both the indoor and outdoor seasons to claim a pair of All-Region honors in 2024. She earned All-UAA acclaim during the indoor campaign with a second-place finish in the pole vault while recording a season-best mark of 3.52 meters and cleared the bar at a season-best mark of 3.57 meters during the outdoor campaign. Schreiber has a 3.74 GPA as a Data Science major.
Slater earned All-Region honors at the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship with a 27th-place finish, while also ranking 25th regionally and and 261st nationally in the outdoor 5,000-meter run (14:56.42), 29th regionally and 277th nationally in the indoor 3,000-meter run (8:44.21), and 50th regionally and 406th nationally in the indoor mile (4:25.32). Slater is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.95 GPA.
The CSC Academic All-America Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Team will be announced on Tuesday, July 15 at noon, followed by the men's team on Wednesday, July 16 at noon.
