The 18th-ranked Case Western Reserve University baseball team was officially named to the field for the 2025 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship on Monday afternoon and will host the regional round of the tournament at Nobby's Ballpark from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18.
The Spartans earned the University Athletic Association's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, winning the conference title with a 14-5-1 league record. CWRU went 27-12-1 overall during the 2025 campaign and finished the season ranked 13th in the NPI Rankings, which are used by the NCAA to determine selections, host sites, seeding, and matchups.
CWRU will face North Central (26-17, 117th NPI) in its first game on Friday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. On the other side of the bracket, Centre College (30-9, 17th NPI) will take on Arcadia University (28-15, 60th NPI) at 1:30 p.m. The losing teams will face each other at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, followed by the winning teams at noon, and the third game of the day at 3:30 p.m. Games on Sunday, May 18 will start at 11:00 a.m., with a second game to follow (if necessary) 45 minutes after the completion of the first game.
The Spartans are making their eighth appearance in the national tournament with an all-time postseason record of 14-14.
