Headlined by first-team selections Owen Myer, Osi Chukwuocha, and Nick Delfau, eleven members of the Case Western Reserve University football team received 2025 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors, as announced by the conference on Thursday evening.
In addition to Myer, Chukwuocha, and Delfau, graduate student offensive lineman Gus Salopek, sophomore defensive back Jake Kavcic, senior defensive lineman Joseph Swarm, and senior linebacker Daniel King were each named to the second team, while senior tight end/ running back Jack Bryer, sophomore defensive lineman Jack Tierney, senior defensive lineman Sean Reilly, and junior kicker Gabriel Petrozzi were all selected as honorable mentions.
In addition, King was named the CWRU representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team, which was established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship.
Myer, a senior offensive lineman who was an honorable mention as a sophomore and named to the All-PAC Second Team last year, is the 13th player in program history to earn three or more All-PAC honors over a career. He started all 10 games at right tackle for the Spartans during the season, anchoring an offensive line that helped the team total 399.0 yards of offense and 32.9 points per game.
Chukwuocha started all 10 games at cornerback for the Spartans during his senior season and finished the year with 50 tackles (37) solo, 4.0 tackles for loss, one interception, five pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries. He had a season-high nine tackles (five solo), including two for loss, and two pass breakups against Wabash on September 13, and notched his only pick of the campaign against Saint Vincent on October 4. Chukwuocha, an All-PAC Second Team honoree in 2024, is the 45th player in program history to receive multiple All-PAC honors over a career.
Delfau, a first-year punter, made an immediate impact for the Spartans during his inaugural year as a Spartan. He led all PAC players by averaging 38.1 yards per punt, while parking 10 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and three punts over 50 yards, including a season-long 62-yard punt. Delfau was named the PAC Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 41.0 yards on four punts against Saint Vincent on October 4.
Salopek played in all 10 games for the CWRU offensive line during his first season as a Spartan. He spent the majority of his time at left tackle, where he played a key role in the team's pass protection. He was also a part of the CWRU offensive line that was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on October 14 after the team's win over Allegheny.
While starting all 10 games at strong safety for the Spartans during the year, Kavcic saw action in all three phases of the game, serving as a running back and a kick returner as well. He finished the year with 41 tackles (19 solo), including 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks, while leading the team with three interceptions. He also had five pass breakups and one quarterback hurry, and forced a fumble during the season. Kavcic also returned 15 kicks for an average of 23.33 yards (leading the team in both categories) and added four rushing touchdowns.
Swarm proved to be a force in the pass rush for the Spartans during the season, leading the team with 7.5 sacks and 11.0 tackles for loss, both career highs. Starting all 10 games at defensive end, he had 46 total tackles (25 solo) with a pass breakup, three quarterback hurries, and two forced fumbles. Swarm had at least one sack in seven of the team's final eight games.
King was a leader on and off the field for the Spartans, serving as a team captain during his senior campaign and finishing the campaign with a team-leading 63 tackles (25 solo), despite missing the final two games of the year due to injury. He added 3.5 tackles for loss with four pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick. King had three 15-tackle efforts during the year, including one against Washington and Jefferson on November 1.
Bryer saw time at both tight end and as a blocking running back for the Spartans during his senior campaign. He played in eight games for the Spartans during the year and was a key factor in the team averaging 147.4 rushing yards per game.
Tierney started all 10 games at nose guard for the Spartans' defensive line during his sophomore year. He finished the campaign with 24 tackles (six solo), 1.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, and a fumble recovery.
Reilly had a career year for the Spartans in 2025, starting all 10 games at defensive end. He totaled 46 tackles (18 solo) with 7.0 tackles for loss and two sacks. He had four quarterback hurries and recovered a pair of fumbles during the year. Reilly had a career day against Washington & Jefferson, totaling 10 tackles (six solo), three tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery.
Petrozzi kicked the longest field goal in the PAC this season and the second-longest in program history, connecting on a 50-yarder against Thiel on October 25 that helped to earn him conference special teams player of the week honors. Overall for the year, he made six of nine field goal attempts and all 40 of his extra point tries, totaling a team-high 58 points for the campaign.
The Spartans finished the 2025 season with a 4-5-1 overall record, including a 4-4 mark in PAC contests.
