Case Western Reserve University first-year forward/midfielder Izzy Probst was named the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, highlighting six members of the Spartan women's soccer team who were recognized by the conference on Tuesday.
Seniors Ceci Dapino and Jamie Goldfarb were named to the All-UAA First Team, sophomore Ellie Palaian and senior Alexis Sassower earned All-UAA Second Team honors, and Probst and first-year Mia Modrovich received honorable mention.
Probst becomes the first-ever CWRU player to be named the conference's Rookie of the Year, an award which debuted for the 2000 season. In conference play, she played in all seven games, making one start, and tallied six points. Probst assisted on four goals and scored one herself, a game-winning goal over NYU on October 26. Overall, she has five goals and eight assists for 18 points, playing in all 18 Spartan games.
Dapino led the squad with eight points in conference play, scoring four goals in seven contests. She scored twice in a 3-1 win over Rochester and added goals in ties with Chicago and Carnegie Mellon. Overall, Dapino scored 10 goals and added three assists for 23 points in 18 games, all starts, ranking second on the team in scoring. This is her first career All-UAA honor.
Goldfarb, who played in just five conference games as a central midfielder, tallied an assist for CWRU in UAA play. Goldfarb played 90 minutes in two of those five games and helped the Spartans go 2-1-2 in the contests. Overall, she has eight goals and two assists in 16 games, including a game-winning goal. Goldfarb is a three-time All-UAA honoree after receiving Second Team recognition in both 2024 and 2023.
Palaian played every minute in front of the net for CWRU in the regular season, setting a program record with 11 shutouts in 18 games. During league play, she allowed seven goals (one per game), and saved 22 shots, blanking opponents in two of the seven contests. Palaian has allowed just nine goals in 2025 for a goals against average of 0.50, totaling 42 saves and a save percentage of .824. This is her first career All-UAA honor.
Sassower, who was an All-UAA honorable mention in 2023, started every game for CWRU this season on the wing. In league play, she scored during a 2-0 win over NYU and played 484 out of a possible 630 minutes (77%). In 18 games, Sassower has four goals and seven assists, ranking second on the team in helpers, totaling 15 points.
Modrovich was the only Spartan field player to play every minute for the time during conference play, logging 630 minutes on the CWRU backline. She helped the team hold opponents to seven goals in seven games, allowing just 66 shots (9.4 per game) and 29 attempts on goal (4.14 per game). Modrovich also scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-0 victory over Brandeis on October 24. In her first year on campus, she has been on the field for 1,605 of a possible 1,620 minutes, helping the Spartans shut out 11 of their 18 opponents.
Case Western Reserve qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season and will be hosting the first two rounds of the championship at DiSanto Field on Saturday and Sunday. The Spartans will face Rose-Hulman on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
