The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team and Otterbein University played to a scoreless draw on Saturday evening at Memorial Stadium in Westerville, Ohio.
The tie moved the Spartans to 3-0-2 on the season. It marked the first blemish on the record of the Cardinals, moving them to 4-0-1.
CWRU outshot Otterbein 23-5 in the contest with an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. Juniors Ceci Dapino and Alexis Sassower both had a team-high eight chances at the net. Dapino and Sassower each put two shots on target.
Graduate student Maggie Storti saved four shots in the contest to record her second consecutive clean sheet and her third of the season. On the backline, sophomores Kat Tsarouhas and Kaylee Bannack and first-year Kinzly Gootman all played all 90 minutes to prevent the Cardinals from scoring.
The Spartans return home on Wednesday, September 18 for the first time since the season opener to face Mount Union at 7:30 p.m.
