The ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University baseball team was selected to the field for the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship and will host the regional round of the tournament at Nobby's Ballpark for the first time in program history.
CWRU will face Alvernia (28-16) in their first game on Friday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. On the other side of the bracket, Ithaca (31-9) will take on Lynchburg (30-15), the reigning NCAA DIII Champion, at 1:30 p.m. The losing teams will face each other at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, followed by the winning teams at noon, and the third game of the day at 3:30 p.m. Games on Sunday, May 19 will start at 11:00 a.m., with a second game to follow (if necessary) 45 minutes after the completion of the first game.
CWRU finished the regular season with a record of 31-9, its most wins in a regular season in program history, against the 18th-toughest schedule in the country. The Spartans are making their seventh appearance in the national tournament with an all-time postseason record of 12-12.
