Watch NCAA Division III Softball, Baseball Selection Shows on Monday, May 13

The Case Western Reserve University softball and baseball teams will learn their postseason plans on Monday, May 13 during a pair of selection shows on ncaa.com beginning at 11 a.m.

The CWRU softball team, ranked seventh in Division III by the NFCA, secured its third consecutive University Athletic Association championship with a 16-4 record and clinched the league's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division III Softball Championship. The Spartans will learn their postseason destination and opponents when the full 62-team bracket is revealed during a selection show at 11 a.m. Case Western Reserve has hosted regional rounds at Mather Park the last two seasons, with the host school advancing to the Super Regional Round in 2022. The softball team will be making its fifth all-time appearance in the NCAA Championship, boasting a 14-11 record in tournament games.

The Spartan baseball team, ranked ninth in Division III by d3baseball.com, will be hoping to receive either one of the two Pool B (for conferences without an automatic bid) or one of the 19 Pool C at-large selections to the 60-team 2024 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. CWRU finished the regular season with a record of 31-9, its most wins in a regular season in program history, against the 18th-toughest schedule in the country. In the most recent regional rankings released by the NCAA, which are used for at-large selection, the squad placed third in Region VII behind two teams that earned automatic bids. Case Western Reserve would be making its seventh appearance in the national tournament with an all-time postseason record of 12-12. The squad will learn its fate during a selection show slated to begin at 12 p.m.

Both selection shows will reveal the sites, times, teams, and opponents for the regional rounds of both championships. More information about any Spartan postseason play will be available on athletics.case.edu later in the day following the shows.
