The 11th-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team celebrated its graduated team members in style, sweeping the University of Rochester 9-0 on Saturday evening at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club in Mayfield, Ohio.
The win was the sixth in a row for the Spartans, who improved to 12-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets fell to 3-8 overall.
Case Western Reserve started with a sweep of the doubles matches, its 11th doubles sweep in 15 duals during the campaign. Seniors Chloe Ku and Pallavi Goculdas began with an 8-0 win over Neha Dania and Sahithi Mathukumilli at third doubles. Senior Katherine Wang and junior Lily McCloskey did not drop a point at second doubles, prevailing 8-0 over Jasmin Toor and Jaclyn Dron. Juniors Hannah Kassaie and Radha Patel completed the sweep by winning 8-3 at first doubles over Sanjana Karnam and Josephine Libby.
Ku finished her perfect day with a 6-0, 6-0, win at fifth singles over Dron, and Kassaie clinched the match by winning 6-1, 6-0, over Libby at first singles. The victory was the 65th of Kassaie's career, matching the program record for singles wins set by Surya Khadilkar in 2016.
