Men’s Soccer Drops UAA Contest at Emory

The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team fell to Emory University 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at WoodPEC Stadium in Atlanta.

With the loss, the Spartans fell to 5-3-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in University Athletic Association contests. The Eagles improved to 5-5-1 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play.

The hosts scored once in each half, netting goals in the 27th and 87th minutes to secure the victory.

Five Spartans totaled seven shots in the contest with senior Kysen Kroeger leading the team with three. Two of his attempts were on goal. Junior goalkeeper Bradley Winter saved six shots for Case Western Reserve, playing all 90 minutes in front of the net.

The Spartans will return to Cleveland this week for a Saturday matchup against Rochester. Kickoff at DiSanto Field is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

  • Heading into play on October 7, CWRU ranked 47th overall and second in the UAA in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) which is used to determine at-large selections for the NCAA Tournament. Updates will be released by the NCAA every Monday until tournament selections on Monday, November 11.
  • CWRU fell to 3-2-2 against Emory since 2017
