- UAA Title Watch: CWRU sits two points behind first place WashU (4-1-1) in the conference standings with one match remaining. The Bears, however, will secure the conference's automatic bid with a tie or win as they own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Spartans.
- Past is Prologue: The Spartans have won the last two meetings with the Tartans, including a victory last season in the regular season finale to clinch the conference title. However, CMU holds a 19-11-1 edge in the all-time series.
- Top Five: The match against the third-ranked Tartans will be the third this season for CWRU against a team ranked in the top five of the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Spartans defeated then-#5 Misericordia 2-0 on September 8, but fell to then-#2 WashU 2-0 on October 22.

Defensively, linebacker Marco Toth had 2.5 tackles for loss, an interception, and a pair of blocked kicks, and defensive end Kaden Tong finished the game with 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. - Coyne Operated: Noah Coyne turned in one of the best individual receiving efforts in program history during the team's game at Washington & Jefferson.
