CLEVELAND – The Case Western Reserve University men's swimming & diving team opened a busy weekend with a 172-65 win versus The College of Wooster on Friday evening at Veale Natatorium.
The Spartans move to 2-1 in dual meets and will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at Oberlin College at 1:00 p.m. Wooster drops to 1-2.
Overall, CWRU picked up wins in 12-of-13 events with three individual double-winners.
Junior Aaron Tam (Doral, Fla./Ronald Reagan Doral Senior) won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.01) and 200 butterfly (1:58.14). Tam, who has four individuals wins in the last two meets, also swam a leg for the first-place 400 free relay (3:13.20).
Freshman Drew Hamilton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) touched the wall first in the 1,000 free (9:56.26) and 500 free (4:49.63). The rookie's time in the latter was a season best.
In diving events, junior Connor Farrell (Bedord Corners, N.Y./Fox Lane) improved to 6-0 this season with scores of 294.85 points on the 1-meter board and 285.70 in the 3-meter event. Farrell's total in the 1-meter competition improves his regional qualifying score.
Friday's meet was the last at home for CWRU until mid-January.
