The Spartans conclude the home portion of the 2012 schedule after falling on Seniors' Night this past Friday evening versus UAA foe University of Chicago (Ill.). For the season, sophomore forward Jessie Sabers leads the team with 15 points on seven goals and one assist, while junior forward Leah Levey has eight points on three goals and two assists. Senior tri-captain and midfielder Deena Levey has a goal and a team-high four helpers, while Bourque has seven points (3 goals, one assist) and senior defender Maeve Goede has five (2 goals, 1 assist). In net, freshman Megan Romelfanger (4-3-3) has racked up 40 saves, a .714 save percentage, a 1.38 goals against average and three shutouts in 1041:25 of action. Sophomore Cameron Casson (3-2-1) also has 13 saves this season.
Washington University-St. Louis is tied for fifth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America weekly national poll. The Bears are riding an 11-match unbeaten streak (10-0-1) including a 2-1 overtime victory on Friday evening versus the University of Rochester. Offensively, the Bears are led by sophomore midfielder Anna Zambricki, who ranks fourth in the UAA in goals (9) and fifth in points (22). Sophomore forward Lillie Toaspern sits seventh in the Association with 20 points (7 goals, 6 assists), while senior midfielder Emily Gosche (4 goals, 4 assists) and freshman forward Olivia Lillegraven (2 goals, 6 assists) have 12 and 10 points, respectively. Between the pipes, senior goalkeeper Clara Jaques (14-1-1) has started all 16 matches with 45 saves, a 0.69 goals against average and an .818 save percentage with five shutouts.
