CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team played its final home match for nearly a month and swept Baldwin-Wallace College on Tuesday night at Horsburgh Gymnasium. Senior middle hitter Tricia McCutchan (Hamilton, Ohio/Stephen T. Badin) totaled nine kills in the effort and is now just eight away from tying the school career record.

The Spartans (11-4 overall) return to action this Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2, at the first of two University Athletic Association Round Robins. Case opens the weekend at Washington University-St. Louis versus the University of Rochester (N.Y.) on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. CDT.

Case took the match by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-23.

McCutchan, who clinched the match on a block assist with junior setter Breana Freeman (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), will have her shot at surpassing Lindsey Deyer's (1998-00) CWRU record of 1,680 kills this weekend.

Freeman paced the offensive attack with 31 assists and senior outside hitter Rachael Suchy (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) matched McCutchan for the team-high with nine kills.  

Defensively, Freeman led the way with 13 digs to complete a double-double, while junior libero Rachel Gulasey (Cleveland, Ohio/Magnificat) and McCutchan checked in with 11 and 10, respectively.

Overall, the Spartans play three matches this weekend in St. Louis. In addition to Rochester, Case also battles the University of Chicago (Ill.) at 1:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday and defending UAA Champion Emory University (Ga.) at 1:00 p.m. CDT on Sunday.
