Box Score WOOSTER, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team won its eighth consecutive match with a 3-1 victory at the College of Wooster on Tuesday, September 21 at Timken Gymnasium. In addition to winning eight in a row, the Spartans now have a 9-1 record in their last 10 matches overall.
Case moves to 11-3 overall and will have the upcoming weekend off before returning to action at home on Tuesday, Sept. 28 versus John Carroll University at 7:00 p.m. at Horsburgh Gymnasium.
The Spartans lost the opening game, 25-11, but rebounded to win the next three, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-18. Junior middle hitter Tricia McCutchan (Hamilton, OH/Badin), the two-time reigning University Athletic Association Player of the Week, led the attack with 15 kills and three service aces. Sophomore setter Breana Freeman (Geneva, OH/Geneva) totaled 41 assists and sophomore libero Rachel Gulasey (Cleveland, OH/Magnificat) posted 31 digs.
Following Tuesday's match versus JCU, the Spartans host a second consecutive home match versus Hiram College at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
