Kevon joined the CWRU Wrestling Coaching Staff as its first full-time assistant coach on September 30, 2024.
Freeman earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Ottawa University in Kansas, graduating from the school in 2024. He won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championship at 165 pounds during the 2023-24 season and qualified for the NAIA National Championship that season.
Freeman began his collegiate career at The Ohio State University, wrestling for the Buckeyes during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. A nationally-ranked recruit out of Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio, Freeman was a three-time state champion in high school, posting an overall record of 170-11.
In 2021 and 2022, Freeman worked as a youth counselor for Beat the Streets Cleveland, a non-profit organization dedicated to "positively altering life's trajectory for K-12 student-athletes in the City of Cleveland by giving them access to youth development, mentoring, and wrestling." With BTS, Freeman provided mentorship and support to at-risk youth, conducted counseling sessions addressing behavioral and emotional issues, and supervised wrestling practices and matches.
