Jeff Ramsey

Jeff Ramsey, who has coached at all three levels of NCAA competition, joined the CWRU staff as the team's Special Teams Coordinator and defensive backs coach prior to the start of the 2022 season.

Ramsey had previously served as the Head Coach at nearby Oberlin College from 1999-2013 and ranks as the second-winningest coach in the program's history. During his time with the team, his players earned a combined seven All-America honors, nine all-region selections, and 96 all-conference honors.

After leaving Oberlin, he went on to be the defensive coordinator at the University of Puget Sound from 2014-15, and most recently completed a six-year stint as the defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator at Wabash College, helping the team win two NCAC Championships and make one NCAA Tournament appearance.

Ramsey was also on the coaching staff at Division II Sonoma State (1993-95), Division I-AA Nevada-Reno (1989-92), and Division III Marietta (1988-89). He began his career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of California, Davis, from 1982-86, before serving as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Illinois from 1986-89.

Ramsey received his bachelor's degree in physical education from UC Davis, where he was a wide receiver and quarterback on the football team, helping his team to conference titles in 1980 and 1981. He earned his master's degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Administration from Illinois in 1988.
