James Rosenbury ’08 returned to his alma mater in the summer of 2013 as an assistant coach and facility coordinator for the Department of Physical Education and Athletics.

In his first two seasons back with the program, Rosenbury coached running backs while also serving in a co-special teams coordinator role for the 2014 campaign.

A former All-UAA running back himself, Rosenbury spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as a graduate assistant at University of Redlands in California.

During his tenure, Rosenbury coached running backs and served as assistant recruiting coordinator. The Bulldogs were 14-5 over two seasons with an NCAA Playoff appearance in 2011.

Prior to leaving for his position on the west coast, Rosenbury had one-year stints in similar roles at fellow Division III institutions Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) and Grinnell College (Iowa).

Rosenbury began his coaching career at Case Western Reserve in 2007 and coached running backs as the Spartans posted three straight undefeated regular seasons (10-0) and NCAA Playoff berths. His time as a coach followed a standout career in which Rosenbury was a two-time All-UAA selection that rushed for 1,712 yards and nine touchdowns.

Rosenbury earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from CWRU as well as a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Redlands in 2013.
