Eddie Kerekes was named the Sports Information Director at Case Western Reserve in January 2022.
Kerekes assists with the public relations and media coordination for all 19 varsity sports at CWRU, including releases, live stats and video webcasts of home events, publications, award nominations, scholarship applications, distribution of information on all social platforms, and upkeep of the Spartans' official website. He is the primary contact for the men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's track and field, wrestling, softball, and women's tennis teams.
During his first three-and-a-half years, he served as media coordinator for 10 NCAA Championship events across four sports held on the CWRU campus. In December 2024, Kerekes was one of 30 people selected to the inaugural NCAA Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite program in December 2024.
After graduating from Case Western Reserve in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering, Kerekes spent 18 months as an industrial automation engineer. During that time, he often returned to the University Circle campus to assist the sports information department.
Kerekes worked as a student assistant in the CWRU Sports Information Department during the 2019-20 school year, contributing to recaps, feature stories, and game day operations. He primarily worked with the football, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s basketball teams, while also contributing to Spartan Features during the Spring 2020 semester.
Originally from Northeast Ohio, Kerekes currently resides in Cleveland.
