Sidney Brannam joined the CWRU coaching staff prior to the 2022 season as an assistant coach. 

Brannam helped mentor University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year Lexi Miskey and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Third Team honoree Kylie Hosey in 2022. In 2023, Miskey was named to the NFCA All-America Second Team after setting program records for wins (23) and strikeouts (207). Hosey also earned All-Region and All-University Athletic Association honors. 

A four-year pitcher at Case Western Reserve, Brannam appeared in 81 games and made 68 starts. She finished her career with a record of 51-14, including 34 complete games, and earned two saves. She pitched 402.2 innings from 2018-21, posting an earned run average of 2.24 and striking out 252 batters while only walking 97. In her senior season, she made 28 starts with a team-leading 2.33 ERA in 159.0 innings, while setting the program record with 22 wins and earning NFCA Second Team All-Region and All-UAA selection. Following her final game, her career ERA of 2.24 ranked first in program history and her 51 career wins and 252 career strikeouts are both top 10 marks in program history.

A two-time UAA All-Academic honoree, Brannam graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2021.
