Nicole Doyle joined the CWRU softball coaching staff prior to the 2020 season.

In her three full seasons as an assistant coach, the Spartans have hit .322 with 92 home runs. The team has averaged more than six runs per game in that time span.

A four-year starter at Case Western Reserve, Doyle started at shortstop for CWRU in every contest from 2016-19, appearing in 165 total games across four seasons. A prolific leadoff hitter, she finished her career with a batting average of .365 (eighth-best in program history) and on-base percentage of .425 (seventh-best in program history). Her 199 career hits rank second in program history, and she set the program record with 55 career doubles, including twice hitting a program record three doubles in a single game. Despite hitting first in the lineup, Doyle tallied 110 runs batted in for her career, sixth most in program history. A solid defender up the middle, she finished her career with 261 putouts, 358 assists, and a fielding percentage of .918. Doyle was a two-time NFCA All-Region Third Team and All-University Athletic Association First Team selection (2017, 2019) and was named to the All-UAA Second Team and NCAA Division III Softball Championship All-Tournament Team in 2018. 

A three-time UAA All-Academic honoree, Doyle graduated with a degree in Accounting in 2019.
