Joe Angelo joined the Case Western Reserve University softball coaching staff in November 2022. The 2023 season will be his first with the program. 

Prior to joining CWRU, Angelo was the Head Softball Coach at Canfield High School in Canfield, Ohio for four years, guiding the Cardinals to a District Championship in 2022. He finished his high school coaching career with a win percentage greater than .700.

From 2012-2022, Angelo was president of Valley Extreme Girls FastPitch in Warren, Ohio, leading the organization consisting of five youth softball teams. In addition to his duties as president, he recruited both players and coaches to the club.

Angelo is a 1992 graduate of Youngstown State University, majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics. He went on to earn his Master of Science in mechanical engineering from YSU in 1995 and furthered his education with an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the CWRU Weatherhead School of Management in 2004. An avid entrepreneur, Angelo founded two companies and was the director of the YSU Entrepreneurship Center for six years.
