Biography

Senior (2023-24): Received the NCAA Elite 90 Award for the third consecutive year for being the player with the highest cumulative grade point average at the NCAA Championship Site… Became the first men's tennis player at any NCAA level (Division I, II, or III) to garner the Elite 90 award three times over a career and just the 19th athlete across all NCAA sports and divisions to be crowned a three-time honoree… Selected to the CSC Academic All-America First Team and the Academic All-District Team… Named the ITA Central Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winner… Earned All-UAA Second Team honors for his play at no. 2 doubles with Anmay Devaraj… Finished the season with a 30-12 doubles record, including a 22-6 mark in dual matches and a 13-4 mark in no. 2 doubles matches… The 30 doubles wins were the 16th-most in team history in a single season… Finished the year ranked sixth regionally in doubles play with Devaraj… Recorded an 11-match winning streak in doubles that started on April 6 and lasted through the Spartans’ NCAA Round of 16 victory over 15th-ranked Johns Hopkins… Was 3-0 in doubles matches during the UAA Tournament… Reached the semifinals of the ITA Fall Regional doubles draw… Lost the only singles match he competed in during the year… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and received UAA Spring All-Academic honors… Finished his career tied for 10th in program history in doubles wins (79-32) and 19th in doubles winning percentage (.712)… Added a 10-6 career singles record.

Junior (2022-23): Won the Elite 90 Award at the NCAA Championships for the second-straight season for having the highest GPA among participants at the event… Became CWRU’s first repeat winner of the award and just the third repeat winner in the history of Division III men’s tennis… It marked the eighth time in CWRU history that an athlete had won the Elite 90 Award… Saw most of his playing time at doubles, where he finished the year with a 24-12 record… Added a 3-3 mark in singles matches… Teamed with Ansh Shah at no. 3 doubles to earn an 8-6 win in the National Championship match against Tufts… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete… Received UAA Spring All-Academic honors.

Sophomore (2021-22): Winner of the NCAA Elite 90 Award for the highest GPA among players at the NCAA Championships… Finished the season ranked 13th in the region in doubles play with partner Vishwa Aduru… Finished the season with a 23-8 doubles record and a 4-2 singles mark… Went 16-5 in no. 2 doubles matches during the spring, including a 4-1 record in NCAA Tournament matches with Aduru… Received ITA Scholar-Athlete and UAA All-Academic honors.

First-year (2020-21): Went undefeated for the Spartans during the 2021 season, going 3-0 in singles matches and 2-0 in doubles play… Picked up his first collegiate victories against the University of Findlay on March 14, winning matches at no. 5 singles and no. 4 doubles… Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Personal: Was a three-year member of the tennis team at the Greenhills School, serving as a captain during his senior year... Was coached by Eric Gajar and Mark Randolph in high school... Also received coaching from Dan Goldberg and Pedja Rakic... Notched a perfect 30-0 record at no. 1 doubles during his senior year... Was a three-time all-state player... Was the individual state champion in 2016 and 2019, and an individual finalist in 2018... Named the Ann Arbor Boys Tennis Player of the Year in 2016... Led his team to the state championship in 2016, 2018 and 2019... Graduated cum laude and was a National Merit Finalist... Born May 21... Son of Rajiv and Geetika.
