Was a three-year member of the John Paul II High School swim team, serving as captain his junior and senior years...Swam career-best times of 21.24 in the 50 Free, 45.74 in the 100 Free, and 1:42.67 in the 200 Free...Placed first in the 100 Free at TAPPS State meet as a junior and senior and first in the 50 Free as a senior...Added third-place finish in the 50 Free at TAPPS State meet as a junior...Named Regional Swimmer of the Meet as a senior and Swimmer of the Meet at TAPPS State as a senior...Received Academic All-State Team honors...Swam for City of Plano Swim, where he was coached by Greg Davis.

Born May 25...Son of Michael Novak and Julie Davolio...His dad, Michael, swam for Tulane from 1986-87.
