Prior to CWRU

Was a four-year member of the St. Francis de Sales High School swimming and diving team, serving as the squad's captain during his senior year...was coached by Brent Ransom...earned All-Conference four years in a row...placed top-5 at Districts three years in a row...graduated with high honors in the top 5% of his class...also competed for the Greater Toledo Aquatic Club, where he was coached by Brent Ransom.
