Austin Overy joined the Spartan coaching staff as an Assistant Coach prior to the 2022 season. 

In his first season as an assistant coach, Overy helped guide the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history, ending the season with a 10-3-4 record and 5-1-1 mark in University Athletic Association play, the best conference record in team history. Overy assisted in mentoring the fifth All-American in program history and the UAA Offensive Player of the Year (Matt Vatne), three All-UAA players, three All-Region selections, two CSC Academic All-Americans, and six total selections to the OCSA All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams.

Overy is a 2021 graduate of the University of Mount Union with majors in management and marketing and minors in entrepreneurship and coaching. He played five seasons for the Purple Raiders soccer team, logging 62 starts in Alliance as a defender. While playing for Mount Union, Overy earned five All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors, including two First Team appearances and one Tournament Team appearance.

Academically, Overy was a four-time Academic All-OAC honoree and was named to the Mount Union Dean's List. A native of Perrysburg, Ohio, he worked with the Perrysburg Youth Soccer Association as a coach.
