Prior to CWRU
Was a four-year member of the San Clemente High School cross country and track & field teams, serving as a captain during his junior and senior years… Coached by Tim Butler, Dave Luciani, Jacques Andre, and Dan Johnson… Placed sixth on the 4x800m relay team at the Masters meet for track & field… Recorded career-best times of 16:23 in the 5K, 15:38 in the three-mile run, 9:54 in the 3,200m run, 1:58 in the 800m run, and 4:27 in the 1,600m run… Won the Scholar-Athlete Award each semester he qualified.
